Stephen Jordan who I spoke with yesterday on the phone, was truly excellent, so helpful and I did not feel I was being ‘sold’ any product, he (Steve) took his time to explain everything to me and my husband, there was no pressure and he was so friendly yet professional and his attention to detail was great. We had problems booking a tour on their website, unable to use a valid discount code and being charged surcharges from a main airport, when the literature suggests that we wouldn’t!
Rang and spoke to Natasha, who was very helpful and managed to solve the problems to our satisfaction.
I can’t comment on the tour itself yet, as it is for 2027, but the booking experience over the phone was a very good start…

The 25 day Wendy Wu Tours Grand Tour of China was well paced and well organised, with special thanks to national guide, Betty. I would have no hesitation in recommending this tour as an introduction to China. In complete contrast the separate two night, three day Hong Kong Glimpses stopover we asked Wendy Wu to organise at the conclusion of our Grand Tour of China was a shocker. The information provided was inadequate, the room in the Dorsett Hotel Wanchai was tiny and the hotel itself was a time capsule from the 1980s.

Amazing tour from when we landed to when we left. Everything was taken care of and we had the best tour guide in Andy .
I would definitely recommend using Wendy Wu and seeing what China has to offer. I cannot praise the tour enough, it was fabulous.

Everyone I spoke to was knowledgeable and clear in their information. Nothing was too complicated or difficult for them to answer. It was an entirely positive experience and I am now looking forward to my trip.

Enjoyed our time in China

The tour part of the trip was fabulous and the guide, Linda, was amazing and was a big reason for it being such a successful tour.
China is an amazing place. The extra day in Shanghai allowed me to experience its metro and it blew my mind: clean, easy to follow. efficient and much better than any Metro I've experienced in other parts of the world (New York, Milan, London, Paris, Sydney to name a few).
My two nights in Chongqing were worth the extra money (it wasn't cheap tagging it on to the Gems of China Tour and needing to pay for a personal guide and driver) because it is a great city and, again, my enjoyment was in no small part enhanced by having Sherry as a guide who went out of her way to make sure that my every wish was taken care of.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Wonders of China tour. The organisation was excellent and our guide, Hoffman was superb as were the local guides. The tour gave us a great opportunity to see the principle sights around China which we thoroughly enjoyed.
The hotels, apart from the one in Beijing were excellent. The cruise accommodation was disappointing, our room smelt musty and the thermostat could not be adjusted. The food and staff on the cruise were excellent.
The food and choice of restaurants were very good and Hoffman went to great lengths to ensure my wife who is vegetarian was catered for. Thank you.

Overall the holiday was very good. We saw the wonders of China as detailed on the itinerary led by our tour guide Sharon who was excellent. The logistics of the trip were first class with flights, trains and buses all on time. The local guides at each location were also excellent with detailed knowledge of their area. We paid for upgraded hotels and were not disappointed. The only problem was that given the busy itinerary we did not really get the good of them. Breakfasts at the hotels were all excellent. We would have given this holiday an excellent score if it had not been for the food at lunch and dinner which was very repetitive and often not to an even a good standard. As mentioned earlier we paid for upgraded acommadation and we were expecting the food to match. Not sure why we could not have eaten in the hotels we stayed in as on a couple of occasions we were taken to a local restaurant before checking into the hotel which on one occasions was at 10:00pm

The tour gives a comprehensive insight into both an ancient culture and a modern thriving economy. The transport and accommodation arrangements were excellent as was the overall organisation and smooth operation throughout. The national and local guides were very professional, efficient and patient and spoke good English -nothing was too much trouble for them. This is a long and perhaps tiring tour but extremely fulfilling.

Thoroughly enjoyed this trip. Having local guides and a guide like Aimee throughout the trip added so much to this trip. Aimee had a solution to everything. Wendy Wu ensured that we saw everything we could possibly see in the short period we were there. Food was excellent. China has so much to offer. I would happily recommend Wendy Wu to my friends and family.
My only suggestion was the meal served at the Houtans could be better in terms of the house ( health and safety assessment advised) and overall standard.

We recently returned from the Wonders of China tour. It was a truly amazing experience, the hotels, meals, sightseeing and transportation were absolutely fantastic and were well above what we had expected. Our tour guide Ryan was very professional and adapted the itinerary very well when some of our group were delayed in joining the tour. The entire trip was superbly organised and we had an absolutely fantastic experience.
My only criticism would be the size of the group. We had the maximum of 28 people on our tour, which whilst manageable may have been better with a slightly smaller number.
On another note, and this is totally out of the control of Wendy Wu tours, there is a huge amount of walking and steps involved on this tour. Several of the people in the group were struggling with this aspect. It is just how things are in China but perhaps more emphasis on this could be stated pre-booking. It is mentioned by Wendy Wu tours in the final documentation you receive just prior to departure but by then is it too late to have second thoughts.
All in all from booking to completion of the tour itself it could not be faulted. An absolutely amazing, and professionally executed, experience.
