Chose this tour as an introduction to China, with recommendation from another and wasn't disappointed. A full on 2 week tour of best sights in China. From beginning to end we were looked after to make sure we had a great experience. Our overall tour guide Ivan gave us insight into the country and made sure we were happy, local guides stepped in to show us the sights, coach drivers were great and there was no hanging around. Hotels were good with breakfast followed by authentic Chinese restaurant lunch and dinner, we didn't go hungry. From previous holiday experience I was sceptical of the optional events but they were great and glad I went. There were to many attractions to list here, have a look at the brochures for more detail.

Patient advisors, (especially Zoe, who had the patience of a Saint, answered numerous questions, giving us great advice and information about our pending trip.

Wendy Wu Tours are superb.
The Wonders of China tour encompasses all major attractions and ‘must sees’ in China.
A plus is all meals are included, and entrance fees.
There are some optional excursions at very reasonable prices.
From arrival in Beijing to departure from Shanghai, we were looked after every step of the way, by our guide Sean, plus local guides.
I cannot speak highly enough of Sean. His patience was limitless!
Was the tour value for money? Absolutely - I am amazed Wendy Wu can offer such a quality experience, with top class hotels, all meals, many excursions, for the price.
It was the holiday of a lifetime.

I had a professional and prompt response from Cheryl following my initial email to Wendy Wu. She was able to arrange for me to join a friend on their Gems of China tour in September. When I telephoned to finalise my booking I found her to be very efficient, and as she herself had done the very same tour last year, she was able to give me useful advice based on her own experience. Overall the telephone conversation gave me great confidence that I had booked with a caring and extremely professional tour company staffed by people who know what they are doing and care about doing it well. What an amazing trip the Gems of China was. So many wonderful highlights. The trip opened our eyes to China as a tourist destination. Our national guide Ni Fan (Ivan) made us feel so welcome and was so great at making our trip a breeze. He organised everything so seamlessly. He was very calm and professional when two members of our party were injured in separate incidents. Another highlight of the trip was our group. A wonderful group of people.
We would highly recommend this tour and if you are lucky enough to get Ni Fan as your national tour guide you are in for an amazing tour.

Sales supervisor Natasha was helpful friendly & professional. Answered all our questions. Booked the Gems of China tour over the phone we are happy with our choice. This is the first time we have booked with Wendy Wu and would certainly book with this company again.

The most fantastic trip across parts of China and Japan. Worth every early morning start.
Highly recommended.

Best tour holiday we had. There is always room for improvement. Just a couple of suggestions:
1. Before flying would suggest to let know meeting time with the tour guide at the hotel.
2. Coaches to have a facility to charge a mobile phone.
3. A separate table for vegetarians as there is a big demand for them to travel to China. Non-vegetarians do not share vegetarian dishes.

Absolutely fantastic tour, couldn’t have been better organised.

As i write this review, i am very well aware that this is only my opinion ~ however, i genuinely enjoyed every single aspect of my visit to China 🇨🇳 👍. When i arrived in Shanghai, i had approximately 30 minutes waiting for my driver. Looking back to this comment, i am in a different country, not knowing anyone or the language, but it is so clean and people are everywhere, so i knew that i had no problems or issues with anything. I was not anxious or worried about anything & this was my only issue in two weeks, so i will reiterate that my trip was absolutely amazing. The hotels, the tourist guides, the internal connections (both flights and train) were easy and stress free. Not only did i enjoy this trip, i can both recommend it & even do it again 👍. All of the excursions were amazing and we were able to jump the queues every time. The guides were helpful, knowledgeable and friendly, so communication was not a problem either 👍.

Thank you Eddie, for being such an amazing guide. You didn’t just show us the sights — you shared the stories, the culture, and your genuine love for all the places we visited. You kept us safe, on time, and smiling the whole way. We’re leaving with great memories, thanks to you.

The guide was so amazing Amanda did everything she could to make this so memorable. The tour is full on but you see so much and experience so much.

The holiday was well planned and well managed. No excessive queuing at attractions. Accommodation was of a good standard and meals fine.
Only downside was that we dined in a Muslim restaurant, which meant there was no beer or wine on offer. I have no idea why this place was chosen because the food was no different to any of the other restaurants we ate in.
The only other negative I can think of was that one of the hotels had an en-suite with translucent walls!!! Not everyone sharing a room is a couple!

The itenary let me embraced so much of culture in China. Almost all optional excursions were outstanding. Great hotels and cruise facilities. The main reason I chose this particular trip was due to allowance of free time (2.5) at great wall of China giving me the opportunity go up to the 12th Fortress while others did what was suitable them. This option was not available with any other tour company and it was so great that all excursion levels were addressed at this monumental place.
Would have been perfect if Zhanjiaji National Park was also included but had a brilliant time. Fellow travellers in the group were fantastic too. Highly recommend this tour.
