Lake Phewa

Celebrating 25 Years of tour excellence

Legend says that a goddess disguised as a beggar was scorned by the people of a Himalayan valley – as revenge she flooded the valley destroying villages and drowning those who rejected her and so forming Lake Phewa, Nepal’s second largest lake. Overshadowed by the towering peaks of the Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges, Phewa’s shore on the Pokhara side is a vibrant street of hotels, bars and restaurants. From here you can head out on the water in a colourful boat and visit the Tak Barahi Temple at its centre. On a clear day the reflections of the Annapurna range on the lake’s surface are unsurpassed.
