Bariloche, also known as San Carlos de Bariloche, sits at the heart of some of Argentina’s most spectacular nature. It is the largest town in the country’s Lake District and is set on the edge of Nahuel Haupi Lake, in a National Park of the same name.

Ringed by soaring peaks, this is a paradise for anyone who even remotely likes the great outdoors – it’s all about skiing in the winter and hiking, biking and fishing in the summer. But it’s not all about the gorgeous setting…Bariloche is also home to Argentina’s best chocolate, and there are fantastic chocolate shops all over the town.
